Sr. Front End Developer (Web Development)

Helzberg Diamonds reaches many of our customers through our e-commerce site, Helzberg.com. Our Developers play a critical role in making sure that our site is constructed well, gives our customers access to our wide assortment of jewelry, and makes the purchase process easy.

We are currently recruiting for a Sr. Front End Developer. The Sr. Front End Developer is responsible for developing, testing, and debugging responsive web applications. Using JavaScript, HTML, CSS and some PHP, the Sr. Front End Developer will translate user and business needs into front end functionality and will apply the principles and techniques of user experience to develop actionable designs to meet desired functionality.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Build and edit website pages in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP.
Collaborate with onsite Creative team on page layout and functionality.
Layout updates to the Helzberg eCommerce site.
Resolve problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Document coding and modifications.
Perform code analysis, code reviews, and software reliability analysis.
Configure, code, test and deploy software applications.
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and five years of related experience in front end development or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Strong GUI development experience required, as well as experience with the most updated versions of front-end technologies and highly-proven proficiency working with the following:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JavaScript language
  • PHP
Must possess strong understanding of SEO and Accessibility best practices.
  • Ecommerce (B2C) experience is preferred.
  • Magento 2 experience is preferred.
  • Regular, predictable onsite attendance is required to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
