The Demand Planner provides detailed store level analysis of inventory and assortment performance and makes recommended changes to improve inventory productivity and financial performance. The Demand Planner will support the Planning and Allocation Director in all aspects of the job in order to meet the sales and gross margin financial goals as well as maximize ROI and turn.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Reporting and Analysis: Determine optimal assortment groups within each merchandise category. Determine optimal store groupings/clusters that are aligned to each assortment group. Analyze K2B APO recommendations and present findings to Planning & Allocation Director and merchandise team. Perform deep dive analyses by category by price-point to ensure balanced assortments. Build Ad-Hoc reporting as needed. Perform linear productivity analyses to ensure space allocations are optimized.
Sku Allocation: Set display mins; execute rebalances; execute re-profile and type-code changes; work sku forecast exceptions; review K2B dashboard exceptions and opportunities, including managing out of stocks.
Merchandise Planning Support: Support Planning and Allocation Director in all facets of product assortment planning, financial planning, and vendor partnerships to meet the sales, margin, and turnover goals of the department. Address individual store assortment needs/callouts from field.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising or related field and at least two years of merchandising or planning and allocation experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced Excel skills including the ability to work with pivot tables and formulas. Experience working with planning and allocation software is preferred.
  • Strong project management skills and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to translate analytic data into strategic ideas.
  • Excellent relationship building, communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be flexible, perform in fast-paced environment and maintain focus while anticipating and reacting to shifting priorities and changes in business.
  • Regular, predictable onsite attendance is required to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
