Junior Data Warehouse Analyst

At Helzberg Diamonds the Junior Data Warehouse Analyst assists the data warehousing team in creating and delivering effective solutions for end-users including designing, building, and supporting the components of Data Warehousing. The solutions will allow users to utilize the data warehouse and decision support systems to analyze the business and make informed decisions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Database & Modeling
o Design dimensional models with conformed dimensions, following the business’ processes
o Have essential knowledge of SQL (Postgres & SQL Server) to administer database objects and to create or analyze complex data queries
o Basic knowledge of database maintenance practices such as security, backup/restore, and performance tuning
ETL Processes
o Develop and maintain ETL processes using IBM Infosphere DataStage
o Responsible for ensuring data quality and performance efficiency
o Responsible for run-time support, error handling and reconciliation of issues
Business Intelligence
o Utilizes existing tools to design and implement end user access to data (IBI, ThoughtSpot, Excel)
o Creates and maintains reports, dashboards, and end user presented data
Other
o Create and/or maintain documentation of Data Warehouse resources such as metadata, processes, and end user interfaces
o Study company business practices and applications to understand impact on Data Warehousing resources and assets
o Assist end user data requests by gathering business requirements and develop a plan to accommodate their
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required with six months to one year of increasingly responsible experience (internship or post graduate) in the information technology field in general.
Experience with OLAP technology, Extract Transfer Load (ETL) tool, an end user interface, developing metadata, RDBMS or modeling technology product is a plus.
Strong communication skills are required to work with non-technical end-users.
