THE DEPARTMENT:
The Information Technology Department is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a secure technology infrastructure to support the Product, People, Promotion, Place and Profit areas of Helzberg Diamonds. It accomplishes this through the design, development and deployment of automated systems to meet the information and process needs of each major line of business: human resources, merchandise, marketing, finance, stores, and E-Commerce. In addition to these lines of business applications, the IT organization is responsible for the collection and correlation of all company electronic information assets into an enterprise Data Warehouse which is used to support the overall analytical and reporting information needs of the business.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Warehouse Analyst provides support to the data warehousing team by delivering effective solutions for end-users including developing applications and training users on the available tools. The solutions will allow users to utilize the data warehouse and decision support systems to analyze the business and make informed decisions. This position works with users from various departments regarding data and reporting issues. The position also works with external vendors as needed to ensure the integrity of the data.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Ability to analyze data both raw and through visualization tools to ensure that the data is accurate and fulfills requirements.
• Use verification processes to ensure all information being produced is complete and accurate. This may require reviewing data reporting and applications to assist in verifying accuracy and completeness of data from the point-of-view of the end user.
• Ensure that all processes complete as expected and troubleshoot issues when they occur. This position will have on-call/overnight support responsibilities.
• Maintain data warehouse and data mart tables based on defined specifications to ensure database is current and accurate. Make needed changes to the load processes. Ensure all development in this area meets the HDS DW development standards.
• Work with external business partners through project lifecycle where applicable. Engage directly with external business partner contacts when required and escalate support issues that are not being met.
• Prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects at the same time. Manage task and project status in designated management tools (ie. Service Desk, JIRA, etc.).
• Work under general guidance and self-start in order to meet project requirements and timelines.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
• General knowledge of database modeling and architecture – on-prem and cloud
• Intermediate level of SQL knowledge & experience
• Datastage or equivalent ETL technology
• Python or equivalent scripting technology
• API endpoint (REST/SOAP) usage
• Data storage protocols like SFTP, S3, ADLS, etc.
• General knowledge of database maintenance and administration
• Ability to parse & analyze data in various file formats (Text, CSV, JSON, XML, Excel)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent does not have any direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required.
• One to three years of increasingly responsible experience in the information technology field, and some experience with data warehouse related toolsets (end-user tools, ETL, data modeling).
• Strongly prefer experience within a multi-unit retail environment.
• Solid communication and facilitation skills are required to work with vendors and non-technical end-users.
• Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
