POSITION SUMMARY:
The Creative Operations Manager (COM) manages the workflow, resources, and processes for creative content production. They ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and meet required project needs. This is a hands-on position helping manage the creative team workflow, facilitating collaboration, reconciling feedback across diverse groups and perspectives while recognizing patterns and solving through processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resources & timelines: Oversees the team's day-to-day creative operations, including resources (internal and freelance). Helps ensure deadlines are being met and bottlenecks are quickly identified.
- Creative workflow: Helps facilitate the development of content for various platforms, such as print, email, social media, and website. Ensures quality and accuracy of work at each milestone and reconciling feedback during approval process. Provides support to design team while communicating directly with brand and cross functional partners.
- Approvals: Refines approval process and actively reconciles feedback from multiple stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Ensures seamless collaboration between team members and stakeholders.
- Production planning: Supports pre- & post-production processes, facilitating communications, making sure all deadlines are met, and budget tracking.
- Seasonal planning: Providing creative support during seasonal planning, setting up documents and ensuring clear communication between team members and stakeholders.
- Creative asset management: Oversees asset upload and creative function of the DAM – process, organization, and communication, while actively managing taxonomy and usage rights.
- Processes: Documents current workflows, processes, and procedures. Conducts regular evaluations of the process to identify and address areas for improvement.
- New tools: Supports the implementation of new tools or systems to streamline operations.
- Equipment: Oversees studio equipment maintenance and upgrades.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will have a direct report (Creative Operations Coordinator) and will be responsible for the following:
- Accomplish department objectives by directing and monitoring the work progress of direct report.
- Provide coaching and guidance to direct report.
- Set expectations, annual goals and provide required quarterly touch base meetings with all direct report.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in creative operational management.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience handling resource management, technology, and workflow processes.
- Understanding of design, copy, and photography within a fashion or retail business, and digital creative deliverables.
- Proven ability to communicate and build strong cross functional relationships.
- Experience reconciling diverse inputs and feedback to ensure the best creative outputs that meets business needs.
- Expert in implementation and utilization of technologies that support creative team (workflow/project management, digital asset management/DAM) and working knowledge of Bynder, WorkFront and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Being team player is a must. This role will be a key partner to several cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate well and receive feedback from internal stakeholders is essential.
- Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
