Senior Designer (Brand/In-store)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Designer (Brand/In-store) is responsible for the creation of visual concepts to communicate ideas that inspire and captivate Helzberg customers and prospective customers. Works in conjunction with the Marketing creative team in graphic development and layout supporting Helzberg’s overall visual and graphic strategy according to the brand’s standards and guidelines. Responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, translating business needs into solutions, and developing recommendations for innovation.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Create and produce impactful creative ideas and executions that deliver and adhere to the Helzberg brand vision and brand standards while ensuring consistency.
  2. Develop and lead design for Direct Mail, In-Store, OOH, Print Campaigns and Brand Identity.
  3. Layout and Typography expert
  4. Manage project flow and development with design, copy, and creates a clear hand off process with production.
  5. Successfully use design skills and knowledge to create compelling themes, ideas and creative that is on brand, and meet or exceed business objectives.
  6. Maintain brand and typographic consistency across all materials and channels.
  7. Present design concepts for review and approval.
  8. Digest and implement design feedback from multiple stakeholders.
  9. Stay informed on the changing landscape of design, including trends, best practices, and new tools/technologies.
  10. Develop and maintain trusted partnerships with peers, internal business teams and external agencies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent does not have any direct reports.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design or related field and 8-10 years’ experience as a designer in Catalog, Digital, and Print design, or a combination of education and experience required.
  • Retail design and marketing experience a must.
  • Typography master.
  • Layout specialist.
  • Illustration skills a plus.
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator using macOS. Figma proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience working within a digital asset management workflow.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record as a Lead Designer, with a deep understanding of design and awareness of current design and industry trends.
  • Adept in a variety of digital and print design executions.
  • Have a strong understanding of the latest design tools, trends, concepts, and technologies.
  • Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required one or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external colleagues.
