POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Project Manager acts as a business and technical liaison for various program requests for the IT Department at Helzberg Diamonds. The successful candidate will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements necessary to facilitate ongoing enhancements and technical support. Partners closely with and manages relationships with IT and business teams. A successful candidate will proactively identify risks with proposed project timelines and requirements and in collaboration with the IT Project Manager, escalate those to IT Leadership and make appropriate recommendations for mitigation strategies.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  1. Provide support for multiple high priority Information Technology projects including:
    • Project planning and scheduling
      • Provide oversight to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in scope and the project objectives are met.
      • Proactively identify risks in project execution and collaborate with stakeholders to develop remediation strategies
    • Communication and stakeholder management
      • Communicate updates and partner with stakeholders on project decisions and direction.
      • Provide regular updates to IT Leadership Team and major project and program status.
    • Resource coordination and management
      • End-to-end project coordination of technology-focused projects and initiatives.
      • Coordinate resources between multiple projects within the IT Organization to ensure each initiative is supported in alignment with overall business strategic goals.
      • Identify and document cross-team dependencies and downstream impact of technology changes and ensure those are incorporated into project plan.
    • Monitoring, reporting, and administrative support
      • Track, measure and report on project status and progress.
  2. Offer consultative support to medium and large-scale projects.
  3. Share feedback and insights to drive consistency and continuous improvement in the IT Project Management process.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. Will accept an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • 5+ years of project coordination or 2-3 years of project management experience. This includes hands-on experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Disciplined and data driven problem solving.
  • Ability to communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • PC or MAC literate in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, Access).
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is preferred.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of basic IT and Project Management frameworks.
  • Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
