THE DEPARTMENT: The primary focus of Brand Marketing is to build brand value and reputation, attracting new customers to the brand and developing brand loyalists out of existing customers. Brand Marketing is proactive in developing strategies which will appeal to new customers and at the same time, solidify the loyalty of existing customers. A major function of Brand Marketing is to develop the Helzberg brand identity and to project this into the retail marketplace in engaging ways using products and services as proof points to support the brand’s promise. At Helzberg, the marketing channels for which brand content is developed leans heavily digital, but also includes traditional marketing channels. POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Media Manager supports the Helzberg Brand, Creative & Communications organization. This hands-on role leads organic social media strategies, organic channel account management and social content development from brief to execution in partnership with the Content Creator. This role works collaboratively and cross-functionally with Brand, Creative, Merchandise, Ecommerce, Retail and other Business units across the organization. This highly collaborative role requires a strong understanding of the evolving social landscape and experience managing and growing a brand’s social account(s). PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: The ideal incumbent will be forward-thinking, creative, attuned to culture and social media, and connected to consumer trends that resonate with our audiences. The incumbent should demonstrate a proven track record of crafting and executing creative marketing plans tailored for a brand’s social media platforms. This position will connect the strategic dots between Helzberg’s brand identity, organic social best practices by channel, and deliver content that delights and inspires audiences to engage with our brand in these social spaces. This role and it’s supporting coordinator are responsible for end-to-end management of Helzberg organic social channels including content planning, operations, execution, community engagement and analytics. Job Responsibilities: • Develops a holistic social strategy, tailored to platform, across Helzberg’s organic social ecosystem, including but not limited to: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, X, YouTube (+ Shorts), LinkedIn and emerging platforms. • Serves as functional expert in organic social best practices, ongoing platform updates, requirements and opportunities. • Develops and drives the execution of annual, quarterly, and monthly organic social plans through content calendar and content briefs, ensuring seamless implementation in partnership with the Content Creator. • Develops content briefs that are informed by business priorities, brand storytelling, and up-to-date performance and SEO insights. • As organic social comes in-house, helps develop Helzberg’s internal processes related to social content creation, internal and external approvals, publishing, community management, and social analytics. • Manages collaboration with key cross-functional partners, fostering an end-to-end process with robust project management skills. • Enthusiastic over Helzberg jewelry, jewelry style and education, product and marketing launches, and social strategies to ensure a culturally relevant, consumer-centric approach in all social efforts. • Maintains strong understanding of the fine jewelry industry, Helzberg’s business strategy, products and services, customer profiles and competitors in the marketplace. • Possesses an eye for finding stories anywhere, focusing on stories that ladder up to the goals and strategies of the brand for each platform. • Delivers actionable annual, quarterly and monthly performance analysis to inform channel and creative optimizations. • Engages in proactive and reactive conversations with commenters as well as other brands to drive relevance (in partnership with Customer Care). • Responsible for social account operations and social tool stacks (i.e. Dash Hudson, LinkTree, etc.). • Responsible for writing all customer-facing organic social copy in alignment with brand voice. • Abides by legal policies regarding social media including intellectual property and music. • Manages and develop Social Media Coordinator who will jointly be responsible for scheduling, publishing, tagging products, etc. in addition to assisting with content planning, coordination, community management and analytics as needed. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position will have a direct report and be responsible for the following: • Accomplish department objectives by directing and monitoring the work progress of direct report. • Provide coaching and guidance to direct report. • Set expectations, annual goals and provide required quarterly touch base meetings with all direct report. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree • 5-7 years proven success growing and developing a brand’s social media presence; retail background preferred. • Social native that knows what makes content perform well in each platform and are always iterating. • Strong storyteller with excellent copywriting skills. • Keyed into trends but discerning enough to determine which are right for the brand. • Prior management experience preferred. • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once. • Being team player is a must. This role will be a key partner to several cross-functional teams. • Ability to communicate well and receive feedback from internal stakeholders is essential. • Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
